Sudden small 'jumps' in jobs

Problem:

My laser unit seems to make small 'jumps' while cutting or engraving a job.

This results in misalignments.

Cause:

This is usually caused by the motor pulleys slipping on the motor shafts. It is particularly noticeable when the laser is changing directions.

Solution:

Ensure that the motor pulley set screw is facing the 'flat' section on the motor shaft and tightened.
