Cutting Vinyl Records

We get approached great deal from customers who would like to cut vinyl records to produce artwork.

Unfortunately, vinyl contains the chemical 'chlorine', which produces very toxic fumes when laser cut.

These fumes can not only damage your lungs, but also cause all metal parts of your machine to corrode.

This danger is present in plastics also referred to as PVC (Poly-Vinyl-Chlorine). See the 'Material Properties' table in the Emblaser user manual for more information about materials safety.

For dealing with these types of materials we recommend consulting a professional laser cutting firm. They should be equiped with the equipment and filtration systems to deal with it.
