Getting Started - Windows 7 & 8

Step 1:

If you own an Emblaser 2, download the User Manual: E2 User Manual

If you own and Emblaser Core, download the Assembly & User Manual:

     ECore Assembly Manual

     ECore User Manual


Step 2:

If you own an Emblaser 2, jump to Step 3.

If you own an Emblaser Core, follow the Assembly Manual and construct your machine.


Step 3:

The Emblaser is not a toy and if used incorrectly can cause injury.

Carefully read the safety information in Section 1 of the User Manual.


Step 4: 

Follow the User Manual instructions in Section 3 to setup your Emblaser.

You can download the latest version of LightBurn from here: LINK

Your LightBurn license key can be found on the 'Getting Started' card supplied with your machine as shown in the image below.



Step 5:

Older versions of Windows (pre-Windows 10) require drivers to be installed to recognise your Emblaser 2.

Please download and install driver V1.1: DOWNLOAD (v1.1)

NOTE: If you are having problems installing this driver .exe file, please download V1.0 and follow the steps below under 'Manually Installing Drivers': DOWNLOAD (v1.0)


 Manually Installing Drivers

After downloading the recommended .zip file, unzip it to your desktop.

Click the “Start” button and pull up the Control Panel.

From there, open the Device Manager.

Now we need to locate the device to install.


Right-click the and select “Update Driver Software”



Select 'Browse my computer for the driver software' and find where you unzipped the driver to.



You should now have a recognised “Smoothie Virtual Serial Port”.

NOTE: If you are experiencing problems installing a driver, it may be useful to uninstall the device and then try re-installing the driver. This can be done by right-clicking on the driver and selecting 'Uninstall'.
