This is an advanced technique and only recommended if you fully understand the process.
Incorrectly changing internal parameters can cause permanent damage to your machine.
Follow this process only if:
- You have discussed your issue with support and they have recommended following one of these steps.
- You are trying to engrave very small detail and you are finding waviness in your engravings.
- Your machine's x & y dimensional accuracy is not correct and you need to adjust it.
Make sure your machine is turned off. Remove the SD card from your controller board and insert it into a computer.
Important: Do not delete any files currently on the SD card.
Using a text editor, create a text file called 'config' and save it onto the root of the SD card. This file should not have any extension.
You will be adding certain lines to the 'config' text file based on what you wish to adjust. Only add the lines associated with the aspect you are trying to tweak.
For unwanted waviness in fine engraving detail, add the following 2 lines. Note, these are the default values:
To reduce the waviness, please try changing the acceleration value to 500 and the junction_deviation to 0.005.
For tweaking the x & y dimensional accuracy, add the following 2 lines. Note, these are the default values:
To adjust the dimensional accuracy, you need to make small changes to these values and re-test. A change of 200 to 199 will make a noticeable difference to the distance the machine travels.
After every change, re-inserted the SD card into the controller board and a test run to determine the effect of the parameter change.
